NEURO REHABILITATION PROGRAM TREATMENT PLAN

Physical Therapy

Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability through manual therapy, education and advice.

Our physiotherapists maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease.
The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible through the following physiotherapy methods:

Tilt Tables

Tilt tables are used extensively in the area of functional rehabilitation for the handicapped and disabled patient where the requirement to stand or be upright is of paramount importance in the following areas of treatment:

  • Reduce spasticity
  • Prevent hypercalciur ia, renal calculus, osteoporosis, and pathological fractures
  • Increase flexibility and prevention of contractures of hip, knee and ankle joints.
  • Improve orthostatic and cardiovascular conditioning
  • Improve urinary drainage and renal function
  • Prevent of pressure sores on seated weight bearing areas

Movement therapy “Motomed”

The MOTOmed provides a means whereby persons who are disabled or have limited mobility can regularly exercise inactive limbs and gain health benefits. This type of exercise is known as ‘movement therapy’ and the concepts of this were incorporated into the design of the MOTOmed.

Regular exercise with the MOTOmed improves both muscle condition and blood circulation.

The advantages of the therapy are

  • stimulate blood circulation
  • reduce spasticity
  • promote and build muscle strength
  • improve extremity coordination
  • counter onset of health problems caused by lack of mobility
